Now it’s official – young Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito has joined Sampdoria on loan.

The Nerazzurri confirm that the 21-year-old is on his way in an official statement. The Blucerchiati have signed Esposito on a season-long loan with a purchase option, whilst Inter retain a buyback option.

In the last three years, the Italian has been on loan with five different clubs, spending time at Spal, Venezia, Basel, Anderlecht and most recently Bari.

After three separate stints in Serie B, Esposito was perhaps hoping for a spell in the top flight. Hellas Verona were reportedly interested in his services. They were on the verge of striking a deal with the Nerazzurri as some reports suggested.

Nevertheless, Sampdoria have won the race for the young man’s signature. Therefore, another stint in the second tier is on the cards for the Italy Under-21 starlet.

Inter Milan Striker Sebastiano Esposito Joins Sampdoria On Loan

Sampdoria stepped forward with an interest in signing Esposito on loan this summer.

The Ligurians are currently in Serie B. This follows their relegation to the second division after a disastrous 2022-23 season in Serie A.

Subsequently, Sampdoria are aiming to go straight back to the top flight under the guidance of Andrea Pirlo.

The legendary former Juventus and AC Milan midfielder, and former Bianconeri and Fatih Karagumruk coach, has taken over the Blucerchiati as coach this summer.

Therefore, Sampdoria are now aiming to reinforce for their battle for promotion in Serie B.

As part of this, the Blucerchiati have already brought in young Inter goalkeeper Filip Stankovic on loan.

And now, a second Nerazzurri player has arrived at the Marassi on loan.

Esposito will go back to a team in Serie B, having already spent three loan spells in the division.

However, the striker has chosen an ambitious club in the second division over a possible opportunity to play regular Serie A football.
