Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel is desperately trying to convince Benjamin Pavard to stay at the club, keeping Inter Milan on their toes.

The Nerazzurri are on the cusp of sorting out their attacking jigsaw. They’re about to replace Marseille-bound Joaquin Correa with the returning Alexis Sanchez.

Nevertheless, the Serie A giants must still bolster their defensive department with a capable newcomer after losing the services of Milan Skriniar. The Slovakian defender joined PSG on a free transfer earlier this summer.

But while the Beneamata have an agreement in principle to bring in Pavard, Bayern Munich manager Tuchel is still trying to sabotage the operation.

According to DAZN journalist Orazio Accomando via FcInter1908, Tuchel is still holding on to the French defender. He’s been trying to convince him to stay at Bavaria, even though the two clubs have already an accord in place.

As the source explains, the German tactician doesn’t want to lose the services of his versatile defender before securing a competent replacement.

Inter Milan Remain On Alert As Thomas Tuchel Is Desperate To Keep Benjamin Pavard At Bayern Munich

Therefore, the Nerazzurri remain on alert as the last thing they need is an obstacle that jeopardizes the operation.

Inter remain in a hurry, looking to secure the 27-year-old’s signing as soon as possible. The club would like to have him available for Monday’s away encounter against Cagliari.

But while the Nerazzurri are looking out for any undesirable surprises, an earlier report claimed that Bayern have already given Inter guarantees regarding the transfer.

Pavard’s contract at Bayern still runs for another season. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old is eager to embark on a new adventure with the Nerazzurri.

The defender has been plying his trade in Germany since 2016. He initially signed for Stuttgart, before joining the Bavarian giants in 2019.
