Bayern Munich have reportedly identified Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as a potential replacement for Inter Milan transfer target Benjamin Pavard.

The Nerazzurri are tenaciously trying to sign the French defender as a replacement for Milan Skriniar.

The Italian giants have an agreement in principle with both Pavard and Bayern. Nevertheless, Thomas Tuchel is refusing to let go of the player before the arrival of a competent replacement.

However, there could be some positive developments on this front, as the German tactician may have found the right profile.

According to Sky Sport Germany via FcInterNews, Bayern will try to add in Chalobah, which would subsequently free up Pavard.

As the source explains, Tuchel is an admirer of the 24-year-old. The two already worked together at Chelsea. In fact, the German manager’s time in West London witnessed Chalobah’s most productive performances at the club.

Nowadays, the English defender is struggling for playing time at Stamford Bridge. Interestingly, Inter have reportedly been pursuing him as well throughout the summer.

However, the Nerazzurri turned their attention to Pavard in recent weeks, pinpointing him as the ideal candidate for the role.

The Italian giants will be hoping that Bayern manage to finalize a transfer for Chalobah – or any other defender for that matter – which would pave the way for Pavard’s landing in Milano.

The 2018 World Cup winner still has a contract with the Bundesliga champions for another season but he’s hellbent on embarking on a new adventure with Inter as soon as possible.
