New Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic identifies the Scudetto title as the club’s main objective for the 2023/24 campaign.

The 34-year-old made his return to Appiano Gentile last week after 13 years of his original stint at the club.

The Austrian spent the 2009/10 campaign with the Nerazzurri on loan from Twente. Although he officially won the historic treble, he hardly featured in Jose Mourinho’s lineup.

But after collecting experience all over Europe, the bomber is now ready to make his mark at the club.

Arnautovic made his re-debut for the Beneamata in last week’s 2-0 win over Monza. He came off the bench to provide a fabulous assist for Lautaro Martinez.

In a new interview, the veteran hitman reveals that the club’s main objective for the season is the Scudetto title and the second golden star that would come along.

“Winning the first match was very important, I’m very happy to be back. When I entered San Siro, I felt strong emotions.” said Arnautovic in an interview with Sport Mediaset via FcInterNews.

“Ou first objective is winning Scudetto, we will fight for the second star.

“Another treble? Thirteen years ago, nobody believed in it at the beginning of the season, so you never know. But it’s not easy at all.

“We have a lot to do. I can’t say at the beginning of the season where we’ll end up. But the treble would be a dream.”

Inter Milan Striker Marko Arnautovic Is Gunning For The Club’s Second Golden Star

On another note, the former West Ham star insists that AC Milan remain Inter’s fiercest rivals on the pitch.

“Out main rivals will always be AC Milan. In Milano, we have the biggest derby in the world. In this transfer market they have strengthened their team but we are not afraid of anyone.

“At Inter, you always have to win. It is important to fight for the second star. I want to help on and off the pitch. I didn’t set an objective for the number of goals to score, I never impose it on myself.

“I want to help the team with assists or goals, which is even better since a striker always wants to score.”

The experienced attacker also hailed his club captain Lautaro Martinez while calling everyone at Inter to support him.

“Lautaro is very strong, he’s our captain. We have to help him. When the team is united you always enjoy a good season.

“The coach asks me to give everything in every game and work extremely hard in training.

“At Inter, I have an excellent relationship with everyone. Then, the results on the feld count. That’s where we should make the difference.”
