Inter Milan are reportedly reigniting the track that leads to Torino defender Perr Schuurs as they struggle to put Benjamin Pavard’s transfer over the line.

Over the past week or so, the Nerazzurri have identified the Bayern Munich star as the ideal profile to bolster the defense.

The 27-year-old would effectively replace Milan Skriniar who joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

But despite agreeing deals in principle with the player and the club, Inter are still unable to finalize the operation.

The main hurdle at the moment is Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel who’s refusing to release Pavard before the arrival of a competent replacement.

The manager confirmed as much in his press conference on Friday. Tuchel insists that the player’s transfer request arrived too late, so he still intends to rely on his services this season.

Therefore, Inter must monitor other options in case they fail to find a solution over the next few days.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri have re-established contacts with Torino for 23-year-old defender Perr Schuurs.

The Beneamata have reportedly identified the Dutchman as the fallback option in case they miss out on Pavard.

The former Ajax man joined the Granata last summer, replacing Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.

Schuurs presented himself as a reliable player at the back, earning the attention of several suitors, including Inter.

The Dutchman has a contract with Torino that runs until 2026 with an option for an additional year.
