Inter Milan are reportedly more confident than hopeful when it comes to their chances of luring Benjamin Pavard this summer.

The Nerazzurri have been holding frantic talks on this particular front in recent days as they try to bring in the Frenchman before the transfer session expires.

The 27-year-old would fill the gap left by Milan Skriniar at the back. The latter joined PSG on a free transfer earlier this summer.

But while Inter managed to reach agreements in principle with the player and the club, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel is still standing in the way.

The German tactician is refusing to free Pavard before the arrival of a replacement. He confirmed this notion in his press conference on Friday.

Inter Milan Are Confident In Their Ability To Sign Benjamin Pavard From Bayern Munich This Summer

Tuchel admitted that the Frenchman made a transfer request, but insists that it’s too late at this stage of the summer transfer session.

But according to Sportitalia via FcInterNews, the Beneamata remain confident in their ability to put the deal over the line.

As the source explains, the Italian giants are more confident than hopeful at this stage. Moreover, the report claims that Bayern are currently searching the market for a replacement.

For their part, Inter only have eyes for Pavard. The source insists that the Nerazzurri aren’t tracking any other alternative option.

We can only expect major developments on this hot track in the next few days.
