Inter Milan have Giorgio Scalvini, Perr Schuurs, and Japhet Tanganga on their shortlist of backup targets to Benjamin Pavard.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who detail the Nerazzurri’s strategy to sign a defender at the last minute in the event that they cannot sign the Bayern Munich man.

Inter are still trying to sign Pavard from Bayern.

However, with the Bavarians not yet having green lit the transfer, the doubts are mounting as to whether the Nerazzurri will be able to get a deal over the line before the transfer window slams shut.

Therefore, Inter are also looking at alternatives to the Frenchman.

And according to the Corriere, the Nerazzurri have three names in particular in mind as possible alternative signings to Pavard.

Scalvini, Schuurs & Tanganga Possible Pavard Alternatives For Inter Milan

One name who Inter have look shown an interest in is that of young Atalanta defender Scalvini.

The 19-year-old is a highly-regarded young defender, and would also fit in with the Nerazzurri’s increasing penchant for trying to snap up young Italian talent to build around.

However, Scalvini would not come cheap. The Corriere report that his club Atalanta are asking for €40 million to sell the teenager.

Then there is Torino defender Schuurs.

The Dutchman joined the Granata from Ajax last summer to replace Bremer. He had an eye-catching first season in Turin in which he proved that he is comfortable within Serie A.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri have also been laying the groundwork for a possible late move for Schuurs.

And the last target who Inter are reportedly considering should they miss out on Pavard is Tanganga.

The Tottenham Hotspur defender would be attainable. His club would likely agree to send him on loan to the Nerazzurri.

However, there are doubts about whether Tanganga would be at the adequate level on the pitch.
