The transfer of defender Benjamin Pavard to Inter Milan will be the most expensive deal in Serie A in the summer of 2023.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet notes that the Nerazzurri will sign the 27-year-old from Bayern Munich for a fee of around €30 million plus €2 million.
The transfer saga between Inter, Bayern, and Pavard has dragged on for over a week now.
But now, it has finally reached its conclusion. The Nerazzurri will complete the signing of the former Stuttgart defender very soon.
According to reports, Pavard will fly to Milano this evening where he’s ready to finish up his move to Inter.
The Frenchman will undergo his medicals tomorrow, and then he can sign his contract to officially become a Nerazzurri player.

Inter are outlaying a significant amount to sign Pavard.
The former Stuttgart defender is not the first player who they’re splashing the cash on – Davide Frattesi will also set the Nerazzurri back a big fee once they pay the full amount to Sassuolo.
However, in Pavard’s case, there is no initial loan deal or other structure to the deal to stagger the payment.
Inter are paying Bayern the cash up front. Apart from €2 million in add-ons, the Nerazzurri have put the entire €32 million fee on the table.
This is more than any club in Serie A has spent on any one player this summer.
There have been plenty of high-profile deals.
Transfers like that of winger Samuel Chukwueze to AC Milan and Renato Sanches to Roma have caught the eye.
But in general, teams in the Italian top flight have looked for bargains. Loan deals and free transfers have been common.
That has been the case for Inter, by and large. The Nerazzurri have significant financial constraints that they must operate within.
But in this case, Inter have loosened the purse strings and spent big to land their top target.
