Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes that Torino defender Perr Schuurs is Inter Milan’s primary backup target to Benjamin Pavard.

In his column for Italian broadcaster SportItalia, Biasin also noted two reasons why the 23-year-old Dutchman wouldn’t necessarily make an ideal target.

One way or the other, Inter will soon know whether or not their pursuit of Pavard should prove successful.

The Nerazzurri expect a final response from Bayern by this afternoon. And they are optimistic about the prospects.

But should the Bavarians continue to drag their heels on a green light for the deal, Inter will move on to other targets.

The Nerazzurri know that one way or the other, they will have to sign a defender this summer. And so if they cannot get a deal done for Pavard today, they’ll alter their strategy.

Biasin: Perr Schuurs Is Inter Milan’s Main Backup Target To Benjamin Pavard

Biasin anticipates that Perr Schuurs is the player who Inter would go after if they can’t sign Pavard.

The former Ajax defender has impressed in his first season with Torino last time around.

Therefore, Inter have already contacted the Granata about Schuurs’s availability.

However, according to Biasin, there would be two main reasons why a deal might not be ideal.

The first would be the question of whether Torino want to sell a key player from their starting eleven so late in the transfer window or not.

Naturally, the Granata would resist this aspect. It could take a very large offer to break their resistance in that sense.

Moreover, Biasin suggests, Inter are very clearly looking for a defender who can play on the right of a back three.

That does not appear to be the strongest position for Schuurs.

Therefore, Biasin suggests, there would be some apprehension about a move for Schuurs.
