Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu feels that the current Inter Milan squad has the right blend of veterans and players with room to grow.

The Turkish international spoke to InterTV after the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Cagliari in Serie A yesterday, via FCInterNews.

Inter have certainly had an eventful summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri have lost twelve players from last season’s senior squad.

Replacing them have been eleven new signings, plus a returning Stefano Sensi.

Clearly, it will take time for the team to come together after so much upheaval in the squad.

So far, it has mostly been players already in the squad like Dumfries who have played the most. Meanwhile, the new arrivals have taken more time to bed in and find their feet.

But the early signs are that the new arrivals can fit in well and replace the players who’ve left.

The Nerazzurri squad has a blend of veterans and players with room to grow that is already starting to make itself apparent early on in the season.

Calhanoglu: Inter Milan Squad Has Right Mix Of Youth & Experience

Calhanoglu said of Inter’s new signings that “We’re happy, we have a great mix of youth and experience.”

“There’s a good atmosphere here and we want to keep it going,” he continued.

“Now we have a week before Fiorentina, we’ll prepare for it well.”

Of yesterday’s win over Cagliari, Calhanoglu said that “We won a difficult match. It’s always tough here in Cagliari.”

“We’re very happy about the way we’ve started the season,” he continued.

Calhanogu noted that “I’m happy playing in this position, I like playing here, moving the ball around and allowing my teammates to play.”

He made clear that “We don’t want to repeat the same mistakes as last season.”

“We began the match well, and deserved the win,” he added of yesterday’s match.
