Inter Milan youngster Kristjan Asllani is bound to stay at the club for next season despite recent exit talks.

The 21-year-old rose through the ranks of Empoli before establishing himself as a regular starter in the 2021/22 campaign.

Last summer, the Nerazzurri decided to bet on him, striking a deal with the Tuscan club.

Nevertheless, the Albanian struggled for playing time in his maiden campaign at the Giuseppe Meazza.

This prompted talks of a possible exit this summer, perhaps on a temporary move. Some suggested a swap of loans between him and Sassuolo midfielder Maxime Lopez.

Yet, this move never materialized. Instead, Inter are on the cusp of signing Davy Klaassen on a free transfer from Ajax. The Dutchman will complete Simone Inzaghi’s midfield department.

So according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Asllani will linger at Appiano Gentile for next season.

The former Empoli man could well be the only natural replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu in the deep-lying playmaker role.

With Marcelo Brozovic out of the club, Asllani might earn more playing time this season compared to last term.

The young man still has a contract with the Nerazzurri running until 2027. He’s also an Albanian international player. He has 10 caps with the senior national team and two goals to his name.
