Inter Milan will kick off their Champions League campaign in earnest with an away trip to face Real Sociedad on September 20.
The Nerazzurri’s entire fixture schedule for the group stage of the competition has been confirmed.
Inter are not just a couple of weeks away from beginning another Champions League campaign.
Last season, the Nerazzurri enjoyed a highly memorable run in Europe’s top club competition, albeit one that ended in heartbreak at the last hurdle as they lost 1-0 to Manchester City in the final.
Naturally, expectations will be high for another big season. Inter have developed a reputation for being cup competition specialists under Simone Inzaghi.
The group stage draw on Thursday handed Inter a group containing Portuguese champions Benfica, as well as Red Bull Salzburg and Real Sociedad.
And now, the Nerazzurri have learned exactly when they will be playing their group stage matches.
Inter Milan To Begin Champions League Campaign Away To Real Sociedad On September 20
Inter’s first match in the Champions League this season will come in the form of a trip to Spain.
The Nerazzurri will make the trip to San Sebastian to take on Real Sociedad. The Basque club are back in the Champions League for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
La Real earned their spot in the competition via a fourth place finish in La Liga last season.
Next, on October 3 Inter will play their first home match of the Champions League season. The San Siro will host Benfica, who had already met Inter in the Champions League quarterfinals last season.
Then on October 24, Inter will travel to face Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg. The reverse fixture in Milano will come on November 8.
On November 29, Inter will face Benfica for the second time, this time at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
Lastly, the Nerazzurri will host La Real at the San Siro on December 12 in their final match of the group.
