Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi will name the same starting eleven to face Fiorentina tomorrow as he had done against Monza and Cagliari.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

In the first part of the season, Inter coach Inzaghi has seemingly gone for continuity above all in his lineup selections.

The 47-year-old has had no shortage of new players to choose from. Now that the dust has settled, the Nerazzurri have made a total of twelve first team signings – more than a full starting lineup worth of players to choose from.

And yet nine of the eleven players to start both of Inter’s matches so far have been players who were at the club last season.

Then, some of the new arrivals have gotten run-outs from the bench in the second halves.

Inzaghi To Name Same XI Vs Fiorentina As Vs Monza & Cagliari

Once again tomorrow, the Gazzetta report that Inzaghi will name an unchanged eleven.

The coach is hardly averse to rotating his squad. But that is more a matter of preserving player fitness during the busy part of the season.

This early in the campaign, there is little risk of burning players out with a week between matches to train and recover.

Therefore, Inzaghi is going to focus on keeping the strong start going with players he knows well and trusts.

In both goal and in attack, the coach literally has no choice but to start a summer signing.

Therefore, goalkeeper Yann Sommer will start once again. And in attack, Marcus Thuram will lead the line alongside captain Lautaro Martinez.

But other than that, it will all be players who were already stalwarts for Inzaghi last campaign.

Two more new arrivals will be on the bench who arrived after last Monday’s victory over Cagliari. Defender Benjamin Pavard and midfielder Davy Klaassen have both signed since then.

But as far as the starting eleven goes, consistency is the watchword for Inzaghi.
