There are three options left in Europe for Inter Milan midfielder Lucien Agoume after a failure to secure a deadline day move.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper notes that the Swiss, Turkish, and Portuguese top flights would still present possible escape routes for the Frenchman.

Transfer deadline day has come and gone in Serie A and in Europe’s other top five domestic leagues.

Agoume remains an Inter player. There was no last-minute transfer for the 21-year-old despite the Nerazzurri and the player’s representatives to secure one.

This is hardly an ideal solution for Agoume.

The midfielder has no place in Inter’s plans for this season. That is only confirmed by the arrival of Davy Klaassen and the fact that both Stefano Sensi and Kristjan Asllani have stayed.

As things stand, Inter have seven senior midfielders available – it is hardly as though Agoume will find playing time.

Therefore, the Gazzetta notes, the aim will be to find a new club for the French youth team international as soon as possible.

Switzerland, Turkey & Portugal Possible Landing Spots For Inter Milan Outcast Luicien Agoume

Doing so will not exactly be easy. Almeria had been interested in Agoume’s signature, but are now off the table considering the closing of the transfer window in La Liga.

The same is true of the transfer window in Ligue 1. Agoume has spent each of the past two seasons on loan with teams in the French top flight.

However, finding a loan club for Agoume won’t be impossible.

This is because there are still leagues in Europe where the transfer window is currently open.

Therefore, the Gazzetta report, the Nerazzurri’s main options, and those of Agoume’s agents, would be to scan three leagues in particular.

Clubs in Portugal have often offered a late option for players out of the project at clubs after deadline day. The same is true of Swiss and Turkish teams.

Therefore, Agoume could still join one of these clubs.
