The total cost of the Inter Milan is less than €190 million for the 2023-24 season, a reduction of well over €25 million.

This is detailed by Italian news outlet Calcio e Finanza, who note that the total cost of the Nerazzurri’s squad between wages, transfer fee amortization, and loan fees comes to right around €187.6 million for the season.

Inter have lowered their wage bill significantly for the 2023-24 season.

This comes as a result of dictates from the club’s ownership to reduce spending on player salaries.

The total net earnings of all Inter players comes to €70.9 million. The Nerazzurri’s gross expenditure is €117.8 million.

That gross figure is down from €129 million last season. This constitutes a savings of around €11.2 million.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri have also reduced the amount that they are spending on the amortization of player transfer fees and wages during the fiscal year.

Inter Milan Slahs Squad Cost For 2023-24 Season

The departures of a number of big earners as well as players with high transfer fee amrotization has naturally seen a dip in the cost of Inter’s squad.

The likes of Milan Skriniar, Marcelo Brozovic, Edin Dzeko, Joaquin Correa, Romelu Lukaku, and Samir Handanovic have all headed for the exit door.

Naturally, players have come in to replace them, which has cost Inter. Benjamin Pavard and Davide Frattesi are the two players with the highest transfer fee.

And Pavard in particular has added to the club’s wage bill.

But the overall effect has been for a sizable reduction in the overall cost of the squad on balance.

Calcio e Finanza note that in the 2022-23 season, the total cost of Inter’s squad came to around €214 million.

At €187.6 million, it is down €26.4 million. That is a savings of around 14% in total compared to last season.

Inter appear to have gone some way towards the objective of cutting squad costs.
