Fabrizio Biasin says that Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi still sees forward Alexis Sanchez as a top player.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster FCInter1908, the Italian journalist explained that the Nerazzurri coach remains a big fan of the Chilean, who returned to the club on a free transfer one season after leaving.

Sanchez is back at Inter just twelve months after he first left.

The 34-year-old returns as a veteran who adds strength in depth to the squad.

There are one or two questions around whether Sanchez’s age will limit his contribution. But as a backup option, he certainly adds plenty of quality and experience to the squad.

Sanchez has won trophies with the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal before also doing so with Inter.

And the Chilean international returns after having pushed to make the move happen.

Even if there were doubts about whether Sanchez would be the right player to bring back so soon after he had initially left, reports suggest that the player himself was eager to re-join Inter, even rejecting interest from other clubs in order to come back.

Biasin: Simone Inzaghi Still Considers Alexis Sanchez A Top Player

In the end, everything lined up perfectly for Sanchez to come back to Inter.

Joaquin Correa left in the other direction. As fate would have it, the 29-year-old joined Marseille, the team where Sanchez was playing last season.

And according to Biasin, Inzaghi is happy to have Sanchez back.

The coach is pleased with the Chilean’s attitude, and has zero doubts about his qulality.

“Inzaghi says that Sanchez is a beast in training,” Biasin said.

“For the coach, he’s still a top player.”

The journalist noted that “He’s spoken to me about Sanchez in really positive terms. He says that he’s come back with the right mentality.”

“But then, I’m afraid, Lautaro is not going to need too much of a rest,” Biasin remarked of Sanchez’s opportunities to play.
