Inter Milan could face either Bologna or Hellas Verona in the round of sixteen of the Coppa Italia.

The Lega Serie A has officially confirmed the fixture list for the entire second round of the domestic cup competition, and has named the second round tie between the Rossoblu and the Gialloblu as the match whose winner will face Inter on December 20.

In the last two seasons, Inter have won the Coppa Italia.

During the 2021-22 season, the Nerazzurri beat Empoli in the round of sixteen. They then went on to face Roma in the quarterfinals, and then city rivals AC Milan in a two-legged semifinal tie.

Last time around, Inter faced Parma in the round of sixteen of the Coppa Italia.

In the quarterfinals, the Nerazzurri beat Atalanta. And then a semifinal tie against the Bianconeri followed.

Inter beat Fiorentina in the final of the competition by a scoreline of 2-1.

This season, Inter will naturally be hoping that they can defend their crown in Italian football’s biggest domestic cup competition. The Nerazzurri will have a chance to make it three from three.

This would certainly only add to Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s reputation as the “king of cup competitions.”

Bologna and Verona will face on October 31 to determine which team will face the defending champions in the Coppa Italia.
