Austria coach Ralf Rangnick says that Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic will definitely feature at some point in tomorrow’s EURO 2024 qualifying match against Moldova.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, the Austria coach revealed that whilst he intends to rest many of his top stars, the Nerazzurri striker will play a part.

Former RB Leipzig, Schalke, Hoffenheim, and Manchester United coach Rangnick is naming his first starting eleven of the international break tomorrow.

And in today’s press conference, the coach made clear that he will not be selecting a number of players. Rangnick emphasized that some of the national team’s biggest names will not feature against Moldova.

For example, Rangnick stated that Real Madrid defender David Aaba, Austria’s captain, will not feature.

Meanwhile, both of Borussia Dortmund’s Marcel Sabitzer and RB Leipzig’s Christoph Baumgartner won’t play a role.

One player who will play tomorrow, however, is Inter striker Arnautovic.

Rangnick confirmed as much. He said that “Arnautovic will definitely play at some point tomorrow.”

The 34-year-old is the player to have received the most caps for Austria. He has made 108 appearances for his national team.

Arnautovic is also Austria’s joint-second highest goalscorer, having found the back of the net 34 times for his country.

Rangnick made clear that his attempt is to give a chance to some of the younger players in tomorrow’s match against Moldova.

Therefore, the coach looks to be attempting to experiment and freshen up his team.

Leaving out experienced players like Alaba and Sabitzer appears to be an attempt to let some lesser-known names audition for roles in the team.

On the other hand, Arnautovic is hardly a younger or less-well-known player. But at 34 years of age, there could be questions about the former West Ham United and Stoke City striker’s place in the project.

Therefore, Rangnick may well give Arnautovic a chance to prove he can still contribute tomorrow.
