Colombian wingback Juan Cuadrado is happy to be at Inter Milan, and feels that his adaptation process at a “top club” is going along well.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, the Colombian briefly gave his thoughts on his summer move to the Nerazzurri.

In a summer transfer window full of shocks and surprises, few transfers were as unexpected as Cuadrado’s to Inter. On paper, the 35-year-old making the switch made plenty of sense.

Therefore, Cuadrado had left Juventus at the end of his contract. And Inter’s penchant for free transfer signings of top-class veterans under the direction of CEO Beppe Marotta is no secret.

But Cuadrado’s long association with the Bianconeri made things more complicated.

The Derby d’Italia rivalry is fierce, and Cuadrado had been a stalwart for the other side of it for nearly a decade.

And even if it’s not that uncommon for players to play for both Inter and Juventus, and even move between the clubs, the sense was that for fans of the Nerazzurri, things were a little different.

Cuadrado had often been a player at the centre of flashpoint incidents in matches between the two clubs.

Juan Cuadrado: “Inter Milan A Top Club, Happy To Be Here”

But Cuadrado did make the move. The 35-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Nerazzurri on a free transfer.

Naturally, the former Bianconeri man will have work to do convincing his new fanbase. But so far, Cuadrado has been showing flashes of what he can do on the pitch.

Subsequently, he notched his first assist in an Inter shirt with a cross for Lautaro Martinez against Fiorentina on Sunday.

“My adaptation process at Inter was good,” Cuadrado said.

“I joined a top club, which everyone knows.”

He added that “we have a great group. I’m happy to be part of a top team.”

“I’m adapting very well,” Cuadrado continued.

In conclusion, Cuadrado stated “[Italian football] is something I already know well. And that’s definitely helping out.”
