Goalkeeper Yann Sommer is embracing a brand new challenge in his career after joining Inter Milan during the summer.

Speaking to Swiss news outlet SRF, via FCInterNews, the 34-year-old also expressed the hope that he can continue to play well into the future.

This summer, Swiss international Sommer made the switch to Inter from Bayern Munich.

The 34-year-old had spent just half a season in Bavaria. He joined as a temporary replacement for injured Bayern captain Manuel Neuer.

However, Sommer always made clear that he wanted to have a first-choice role.

Therefore, the Swiss made clear that he wanted to leave the German champions. And he was happy to take on a new challenge at Inter.

Sommer is a veteran keeper at this stage of his career. Nearly a decade with Borussia Monchengladbach saw the Swiss gain a formidable reputation.

Meanwhile, Sommer has also been a key figure in goal for the Swiss national team for some time now.

And at the Nerazzurri, the 34-year-old is relishing the chance to play in a new league and country, and hoping to make his mark.
