Inter Milan are set to return to training tomorrow to ramp up their preparations for the Milan derby against AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper also note that Francesco Acerbi and Stefano Sensi will be back in training.

Yesterday and today, Inter’s squad have had some time off.

After spending the first week of the international break in training, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi granted those players who are still with the club a weekend to rest and relax.

But tomorrow, the coach will expect his players back.

At the start of the week, Inzaghi will still have a reduced squad at his disposal.

Last week, only seven senior players from Inter’s squad remained. The rest were all on international duty.

However, through the week, the players who are currently with their national teams will begin returning.

Inter Milan To Start Regaining Players In Training As Derby Preparations Ramp Up

With Inzaghi getting key players back from their national team through the week, the coach will really start the preparations for next weekend’s match against AC Milan.

The team will work on tactical preparations rather than just fitness work.

The latest-returning players will be those currently with South American national teams.

This is particularly a concern in the case of Inter captain Lautaro Martinez. The 26-year-old has scored five of Inter’s eight goals so far this season in addition to the other attributes he provides to the team.

And Martinez will only be back in training a couple days before the derby.

But in any event, Inzaghi is preparing to orient training towards the match against Milan. And he is happy to start getting his full squad back to work.

And furthermore, the coach will also have defender Acerbi and midfielder Sensi, starting tomorrow.
