Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries and defender Stefan de Vrij will return to training tomorrow after finishing international duty.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Inter’s squad is already starting to filter back into training.

Last week, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi had a greatly reduced group of players at his disposal. Only those players who had not received call-ups for their national sides were in training.

However, this week, the players are starting to finish up their international duty. They are promptly returning to Inter training to start preparing for the derby against AC Milan next weekend.

The first player to make the return from international duty was Kristjan Asllani.

The 21-year-old played his final match of the break with Albania yesterday, in a 2-0 win over Poland.

And the two Dutchman in Inter’s squad are not far behind. Sky report that both Dumfries and de Vrij should be back in training tomorrow.

Inter Duo Denzel Dumfries & Stefan De Vrij Wrap Up International Duty With Netherlands

Like Asllani, Dumfries and de Vrij had their last EURO 2024 qualifier of the break yesterday.

The Netherlands had a very positive international break. The Oranje won both of their EURO 2024 qualifiers of the break, beating Greece last week and then Ireland yesterday.

Dumfries was one of the outstanding players for the Dutch during the break.

The 27-year-old Inter wingback was involved in all five of the Netherlands’ goals. He assisted all three goals in a 3-0 win over Greece, and then won a penalty and assisted a further goal in yesterday’s 2-1 win over Ireland.

Meanwhile, de Vrij came off the bench against Greece, and did not feature against Ireland.

After Dumfries and de Vrij tomorrow, the other European internationals in Inter’s squad should start filtering back in the next couple days.

The last players to return will be the three South Americans in the Nerazzurri squad.

All of Lautaro Martinez, Juan Cuadrado, and Alexis Sanchez are expected back on Thursday.
