Midfielder Kristjan Asllani is back in training with Inter Milan after finishing up international duty with the Albanian national team.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Inter’s squad is already starting to filter back into training.

Last week, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi had a greatly reduced group of players at his disposal. Only those players who had not received call-ups for their national sides were in training.

However, this week, the players are starting to finish up their international duty. They are promptly returning to Inter training to start preparing for the derby against AC Milan next weekend.

And the first player back is midfielder Asllani.

Kristjan Asllani Back In Training With Inter Milan After Albania International Duty

21-year-old midfielder Asllani was with Albania over the break.

The Eagles had a positive September international break, with the help of the young Inter midfielder.

Albania drew their first EURO 2024 qualifier of the break, against Czechia.

Then, yesterday evening, they got a 2-0 win over Poland. This put Albania top of their qualifying group for the time being, albeit with Czechia having a game in hand over them.

Asllani started in both of Albania’s matches during the break.

Now, the 21-year-old former Empoli midfielder will be hoping to carry that momentum to his club side.

Whilst Inter have enjoyed an extremely positive start to the campaign, Asllani’s role has been minimal.

Apart from a cameo appearance against Fiorentina before the break, Asllani has yet to see any action.

Last season as well, the Albanian did not start many matches.

However, this summer Asllani rejected the possibility of leaving Inter on loan, even if it meant more playing time.

The young midfielder’s priority is to try and earn his spot at Inter.

And over the long season, Asllani will have plenty of opportunities to fight for a place. Starting with training today.
