Inter Milan legend Andreas Brehme considers Federico Dimarco amongst the best three players in his position worldwide.

The 62-year-old played as a left-back himself during his heyday. He represented the Nerazzurri between 1988 and 1992. He won a Scudetto title, a UEFA Cup and an Italian Super Cup during his time in Milano.

The German discussed Saturday’s Derby della Madonnina. Inter will clash heads with AC Milan in a battle between the two Serie A leaders.

The Nerazzurri had the upper hand over their crosstown rivals last season in various competitions. However, Brehme insists that the past is irrelevant in the Derby.

“What happened in the past matters little. In the derby, from my experience at Inter, I learned that there is never a favorite,” argues the 1990 World Cup winner in his interview with SportItalia via FcInterNews.

“It’s a very special match, where anything can happen.”

Finally, the former Nerazzurri star expects his old club to emerge victorious on the weekend.
