Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni is confident that he and his teammates are ready to face the Milan derby.

Speaking to InterTV, as reported by FCInterNews, the 23-year-old briefly gave his thoughts ahead of this evening’s top-of-the-table clash with city rivals AC Milan.

Inter are now just under an hour away from the biggest match of their season so far.

The Nerazzurri will face city rivals the Rossoneri in a match which could see either of the pair go top of the table. At the moment, Juventus have temporarily surpassed the pair by going onto ten points following their win over Lazio.

And even apart from the fact that both Inter and Milan are already looking ready to fight for the Serie A title, the derby is always a match that has a special atmosphere regardless of the circumstances of the two teams heading into it.

Inter Defender Alessandro Bastoni: Calm, Ready To Face AC Milan

Looking ahead to this evening’s match, Bastoni said that “We’re calm. We’ve prepared well for this match.”

“We know how Milan play,” he noted. “We’ve watched the videos, and we’re ready to play a great match.”

The Inter defender noted of Milan that “They’ve brought in some high-quality signings compared to last season.”

“But we’re ready,” he stressed.

“In matches like this you energy all on its own,” Bastoni said of finding the motivation and energy.

“Playing in front of a full San Siro that’s mostly our fans will give us energy.”

Going into this match, Inter have won all three of their matches in Serie A so far.

The Nerazzurri beat Monza at home, Cagliari away, and Fiorentina at home.

Meanwhile, Milan have followed suit.

The Rossoneri beat Bologna away, Torino at home, and Roma away to start the season perfectly in their own right.
