Inter Milan are starting to have the look of a “war machine” in Serie A and the Champions League, with even Man City coach Pep Guardiola admitting it.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Yesterday, Manchester City coach Guardiola named Inter among the main candidates to reach the Champions League final.

The 52-year-old and his team faced the Nerazzurri just a few months ago – in European club football’s biggest match.

And Guardiola freely admitted that Inter caused the Cityzens a lot of problems. He suggested that City had to essentially get the better of a “coin-flip” to win last season’s Champions League, after plenty of “suffering.”

And the City coach believes that Inter can go on the same kind of run this season.

Guardiola is a coach with a reputation for effusively praising opposition teams and coaches. Therefore, there is some reason to take the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach’s words with a grain of salt.

But in the view of the Gazzetta, there is plenty of sincerity in what Guardiola had to say about Inter.

Inter Milan A Scary Proposition This Season – Even Guardiola Thinks So

As Guardiola noted, Inter thrashed city rivals AC Milan in the derby over the weekend.

The world of football turned its eyes to that fixture, always one of the showpiece occasions in Italian football. And what they saw was a demonstration of how ruthless and in-form Inter are.

There looks to be no question of Inter having slumped after the highs and, ultimately, disappointing lows of their run to the Champions League final.

Far from it, the Nerazzurri have gotten off to a blistering start in Serie A.

And they’ll aim to do the same in the Champions League against Real Sociedad tomorrow.

Inter have looked like a well-oiled machine with clear ideas at the start of the season.

And at the Gazzetta note, there are plenty of players who have barely featured, or not at all, who could give the Nerazzurri another dimension altogether.

Guardiola and every other coach in Italy and in Europe are now on notice.

This Inter will be a “war machine” and a formidable obstacle to anyone.
