Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan expects the Nerazzurri to give their best to have another deep run in the Champions League.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the 34-year-old also made clear that the team’s performance is not going to change even amid some significant rotating of the squad.

In just an hour, Inter will begin a new season in Europe’s top club competition.

Last season, the Nerazzurri enjoyed a very memorable season in the Champions League.

Inter reached the final of the competition, only losing by the narrowest of margins to Manchester City.

Now, the team go again.

Inter face a group containing Red Bull Salzburg, Benfica, and this evening’s opponents Real Sociedad.

Four wins from four in Serie A so far this season could give Mkhitaryan and his teammates reason to feel confident ahead of this evening’s match.

But at the same time, Inter will be well aware of the scope of the challenge that they face. Particularly away from home.

Inter Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Ready To Give Our Best To Go Deep In Champions League

“I agree with what Lautaro said yesterday,” said Mkhitaryan. “We will give our best to try and go all the way like last season.”

He continued that “We’re continuing the path we started last season. It’s not over yet.”

“We’ve tried to add new players to the squad. Now let’s see where we can go from here.”

And regarding the prospect of playing with a lineup with several changes compared to the first few matches of the season, Mkhitaryan said that “Nothing changes.”

“The players change, but not the way we play,” he continued.

“Today even the players who are playing for the first time will show that they’re ready to play. They can help the team.”
