Inter Milan legend Diego Milito wasn’t a fan of the heavily rotated formation introduced by Simone Inzaghi against Real Sociedad. He insisted that the likes of Marcus Thuram and Federico Dimarco should always start.

After pummeling AC Milan 5-1 in the Derby della Madonnina, the Nerazzurri manager made five changes to the starting lineup for Wednesday’s Champions League clash.

But it was Sociedad who proved to be the better side for most of the encounter. The Spaniards took an early lead and had several chances to kill the match.

Nevertheless, Yann Sommer kept Inter in the game. Eventually, Lautaro Martinez pulled off an equalizer in the final stages.

After the match, Inter treble hero Milito argued that some key players should always be in the starting formation. He mentions summer signing Thuram and left wingback Dimarco.

Inter Milan Legend Diego Milito Wasn’t Convinced By The Squad Rotation Applied By Simone Inzaghi Vs Real Sociedad

The two men started on the bench, while Marko Arnautovic and Carlos Augusto made their full debut for Inter.

“We expected another approach from Simone Inzaghi’s team,” said the Argentinian legend in his post-match analysis at Sky Sport via TuttoMercatoWeb.

“We said before the match that we needed the right approach, but we have to give credit to Real Sociedad. But perhaps Inter paid for some absences in the starting lineup.

“This squad rotation doesn’t convince me. When a player is healthy, like Thuram, he has to play. I think he should have taken the field from the start.

“The same goes for Dimarco. However, It’s just my personal opinion. Inzaghi has all the data at his disposal.”
