Midfielder Tommaso Baldanzi will be back in the Empoli starting eleven for tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash with Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
20-year-old midfielder Baldanzi was not in the Empoli starting eleven for last weekend’s match against Roma.
The Giallorossi thrashed the Tuscan side, scoring seven goals without reply. That was the final match in charge for Paolo Zanetti as head coach of Empoli.
The Azzurri have yet to take a single point in Serie A after four matches this season. And they face perfect starters Inter in their next match, the first for Aurelio Andreazzoli in this spell at the club.
According to the Corriere, one of Anreazzoli’s first decisions with his lineup will be to put Baldanzi back in the team.
The Italian Under-21 international will play as an attacking midfielder, behind strikers Nicolo Cambiaghi and Francesco Caputo.
Meanwhile, in midfield Ravzan Marin will start, the Corriere expects.
None of former Spezia trio Simone Bastoni, Emmanuel Gyasi, or Viktor Kovalenko will be in the Empoli starting eleven. However, all three could come off the bench during the match.
Tommaso Baldanzi To Start For Empoli Vs Inter Milan
The last time that Inter and Empoli met, Baldanzi got himself on the scoresheet.
It was the young midfielder’s goal that settled a 1-0 win for the Tuscans at the San Siro, certainly a famous result in their history.
That was the match in which then-Inter defender Milan Skriniar received a red card during the first half. As it happened, it was right around the time that the Slovakian decided that he would not extend his contract with the Nerazzurri.
Naturally, Baldanzi will be hoping to follow up his heroics in that match to try and help Empoli to the unlikeliest of first points in Serie A.
Baldanzi is on the radar of numerous top clubs in Serie A. These include Inter as well as AC Milan.
