Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco feels that he’s currently in the best period of form of his entire career.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the Nerazzurri beat Empoli 1-0 in Serie A, via FCInterNews, the 24-year-old also dedicated his match-winning goal in that match to striker Marko Arnautovic following his injury.

Dimarco returned to Inter as a full-fledged member of the senior squad during the 2021-22 season.

This had followed impressive loan spells, particularly the two seasons that he spent with Hellas Verona.

Dimarco did play regularly in his first campaign with the Nerazzurri under Simone Inzaghi. However, there was a sense that he was more of a versatile utility player than a true first-choice option.

But last campaign, Dimarco earned a spot in Inter’s first-choice starting eleven.

And it’s a place that he’s kept this season.

Last time around, it was Robin Gosens who Dimarco regularly kept out of the team.

And this time around, the Italian international is the first-choice starter ahead of summer signing Carlos Augusto.

Federico Dimarco: Best Period Of My Career, Dedicate Goal To Marko Arnautovic

“This was an important win that sends a message to the rest of the league,” Dimarco said of beating Empoli.

“It wasn’t an easy match, but we’re very happy with the three points,” he added.

Of his goal in this afternoon’s match, Dimarco said that “It sat up perfectly on my left foot. I struck it, and then fortunately, it went in.

“I want to dedicate my goal to Arnautovic,” the 25-year-old said.

“Recovering from his injury won’t be easy,” he said of his teammate.”

Asked if he thinks he’s in his best period of form, Dimarco replied “Yes, I think this is the best period of my career.”

“But at the same time, it’s just about working day by day. The most important thing is that the team wins.”
