Wingback Juan Cuadrado is unlikely to make his return from injury in Wednesday evening’s Serie A match against Sassuolo.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Colombian is yet to make his return to full training and is not likely to be rushed back to be in the squad against the Neroverdi on Monday.

Wingback Cuadrado missed Inter’s Champions League group stage opener away to Real Sociedad with tendinitis.

This had also been a problem that the Colombian was dealing with during the international break.

So far, Cuadrado has not featured for Inter since the return from the break.

The 35-year-old was also not part of the squad for yesterday afternoon’s Serie A match away to Empoli.

He stayed behind and worked on his recovery as the rest of the squad made the trip to Tuscany.

Cuadrado has reportedly been targeting Wednesday’s match against Sassuolo as a possible return date. But according to FCIN, there is little chance of that happening at this stage.

Juan Cuadrado Likely To Miss Inter Milan Vs Sassuolo Serie A Clash

FCIN report that Cuadrado continued to train on his own apart from the rest of the group today.

The focus of the 35-year-old’s work has still been building up strength as he recovers from tendinitis.

Therefore, even if Cuadrado were to train partially with the rest of the squad tomorrow, it is not likely that he’d be fully match-fit when the match against Sassuolo comes.

Instead, the Colombian could look to be back for Inter’s match on the weekend, against Salernitana.

Prior to the international break, former Bianconeri wingback Cuadrado had played in every single one of Inter’s Serie A matches.

The 35-year-old has yet to start for the Nerazzurri. However, he came off the bench against all of Monza, Cagliari, and Fiorentina.
