Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries isn’t underestimating Sassuolo after they got a big win against Juventus over the weekend.

The Dutchman spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, ahead of this evening’s Serie A clash. He made clear that the Nerazzurri are focused and fired up for the match.

Inter take on Sassuolo in their sixth Serie A match of the season this evening.

The Nerazzurri will naturally be hoping to make it six wins on the bounce after winning their first five.

And there is little doubt that Inter are the favourites to win this evening on paper. Particularly playing at the San Siro.

However, the Neroverdi will be coming into this evening’s match high on confidence. They dispatched Juventus 4-2 over the weekend.

Sassuolo needed to go ahead on three occasions on Saturday before a howler of a Federico Gatti own goal sealed the win.

Now, the Emilian team will be hoping to keep riding that momentum. They’ll aim to make it two giant-killings in a row.

But according to Dumfries, they will come up against an Inter team who have total motivation and concentration. It won’t be easy for Sassuolo to catch the Nerazzurri off-guard.

Inter Wingback Dumfries: Sassuolo A Good Team, They Beat Juventus

Dumfries made clear that “We’re aware of the quality that Sassuolo have. Last week they beat Juventus.”

“But we’re just looking at ourselves,” he continued. “We’re in good form.”

“I’m expecting a good Inter performance. We’re focused and motivated. We want to get the win.”

Regarding what he contributes in both attack and defense, Dumfries said that “In my position it’s important to be able to do both sides of the game. I attack but I’m also careful with my defensive duties.”

“I’ve been playing under this coach for two years so I know what he expects from me,” he noted.

“We work a lot on my technique,” Dumfries said.

And as far as whether or not the Nerazzurri expected a start to the season like this, the Dutchman said that “We expected it because top players came in during the summer.”

“There’s a lot of desire,” he continued. “The team is strong.”

Dumfries made clear that “We want to win the title, and to keep on growing and growing.”
