Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi will likely be out against both Salernitana and Benfica with a thigh problem.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 24-year-old will in all likelihood miss two matches with the strain to the flexor muscles in his right thigh.

Frattesi has picked up a thigh strain at a somewhat unfortunate time.

The Italian international had played as a substitute in Wednesday’s Serie A match against his former team Sassuolo.

This had been a fairly positive display from the 24-year-old. Even if Frattesi was not able to prevent Inter from falling to their first defeat of the season, he did bring some energy and proactive ideas to the midfield as they chased the game.

But unfortunately for Inter and for Frattesi, the midfielder won’t be able to keep the momentum going this evening.

Davide Frattesi Likely To Miss Salernitana & Benfica Clashes With Thigh Injury

Frattesi had made his first ever start for Inter against Empoli last weekend.

And other than that match, the former Neroverdi midfielder has featured from the bench in every other match Inter have played so far.

Frattesi has already notched his first goal and first assist in a Nerazzurri shirt.

But there is no doubt that the 24-year-old’s run of appearances will come to an end this evening in Salerno.

Frattesi has not travelled with the squad to be part of this evening’s Serie A clash with Salernitana.

But beyond that, Frattesi will not be out for too long. His thigh strain is only a minor one and he could return to the pitch soon.

However, Tuesday’s Champions League match against Benfica will probably be too soon.

It is not likely that Inter will rush Frattesi back for the group stage match.

On the other hand, the prognosis looks good for the 24-year-old to feature against Bologna in Serie A next weekend.
