Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that both his starting eleven and also substitutions will be key against Bologna this afternoon.

The coach spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, ahead of the match.

Inter have just one more match to go before they head into the October international break.

The Nerazzurri host Bologna at the San Siro in just a few moments.

Over the past couple seasons, Inter’s record against Bologna in Serie A has been quite Jekyll-and-Hyde. Both matches at the San Siro saw the Nerazzurri rout the Rossoblu by 6-1 scorelines, whilst both matches at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara saw the Emilean team emerge victorious.

Today, Inzaghi has decided not to make any changes to the team that beat Benfica during the week.

The coach’s only priority is ensuring the team is strong enough to take three points. Resting key players is not in Inzaghi’s mind.

The coach does not want to lose the momentum that the Nerazzurri have built up.

Inter have won every match in the league so far except for a stumble against Sassuolo in their last home match. Inzaghi hopes that the team can make it one more win as they aim to leave AC Milan behind them.

Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi: Staring XI & Subs Both Important Vs Bologna

As far as his decision not to make any changes to the lineup, Inzaghi said that “I opted for this team because the guys are doing well.”

“I decided to go with continuity as far as the starting eleven,” he continued. “But apart from my starting decisions, the players who come on as substitutes will also be important.”

“There will be different moments in the match,” he noted.

“We want to get off to a good start, that will be important.”

“There will be moments where we have more possession,” the Inter coach said. “But there will also be some where Bologna do, because they’re very good at taking care of the ball.”
