Yesterday’s 2-2 Serie A draw with Bologna is only further evidence that Inter Milan are too predictable under Simone Inzaghi.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter did get off to an excellent start yesterday afternoon despite the disappointing final result.

The Nerazzurri looked to be cruising after captain Lautaro Martinez put them 2-0 up inside fifteen minutes.

It’s not necessarily that Inter sprung and surprises on Bologna. The Rossoblu will have anticipated what the Nerazzurri were going to do – they were simply unable to stop them.

And it would be fair to say that, when Inter are on song, it doesn’t matter too much if their tactics are predictable.

But everything after that opening flurry was a demonstration of the bad side of Inter’s tactics under Inzaghi.

Inter Show Predictable Side Under Inzaghi In 2-2 Draw Vs Bologna

After two errors allowed the Rossoblu to get back into the match, Inter needed to try and replicate their fast start to get another goal that would restore their advantage.

Instead, it was a performance that mostly flattered the Bologna defense from the Nerazzurri.

There was little to really give the Emilian team something different to think about.

Inzaghi did make some changes. The coach switched out the wide players, as he often does, in the hopes of giving a boost in terms of fresh legs.

And Alexis Sanchez replaced the tired-looking Marcus Thuram.

But the 3-5-2 shape remained, and the buildup lacked the urgency from the start of the match.

Therefore, Inter were unable to break through.

And in the view of the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri made it far too easy for Bologna.

This was because the Rossoblu defenders always knew exactly what they were up against.

For the Gazzetta, this is not some novel problem. It is something that has been an issue for Inter ever since Inzaghi took over.
