Paulo Dybala wants to be fit to face Inter Milan, but the Roma forward won’t rush back to action.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Giallorossi forward Dybala suffered another injury setback as he had to come off the pitch yesterday.

The 29-year-old had started his team’s Serie A match away to Cagliari.

But towards the end of the first half of the match, Dybala pulled up with a knee injury. It immediately became clear that the Argentine World Cup winner would have to come off.

Dybala was in tears as he left the pitch. Former Torino striker Andrea Belotti took his place.

It was not immediately clear how serious the injury was or how long Dybala would be out for.

But what was clear was that the 29-year-old would have to recover from the problem and that missing matches was a risk.

Roma Forward Paulo Dybala Aiming To Be Fit To Face Inter

According to the Gazzetta, Dybala has suffered a problem with his MCL.

This will not necessarily be a long-term setback, but he should be out for weeks, likely around a month.

But it is still a serious enough injury that Dybala will have to take his time under close observation.

Injuries have been a theme for Dybala both at Roma and during his time at Juventus.

These have not prevented the Argentine from marking himself out as a highly influential player. He has been a key man for the Giallorossi ever since his move to the Italian capital.

But injuries have meant that it has not always been possible for Jose Mourinho’s team to rely on Dybala.

The timing of the international break is somewhat fortuitous in terms of restricting the number of matches Dybala may miss.

According to the Gazzetta, the Argentine is hoping to be back to face Inter at the end of this month. And that wouldn’t be altogether impossible.

But at the same time, Dybala will not force a return to happen if he is not ready.
