Inter Milan Sporting Director Piero Ausilio was at a EURO 2024 qualifier between Albania and Czechia to watch Kristjan Asllani and Tomas Soucek.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908. The newspaper reveal the Nerazzurri executive’s agenda in observing the match.
The international break is now well underway.
However, that does not mean that the Inter club directors have taken a step back whilst the team is away.
On the contrary, the Nerazzurri are using the break as an opportunity to reflect on and analyze their squad-planning strategy.
Therefore, Inter Sporting Director Ausilio has been using the break to watch some players – both current Nerazzurri players, and potential future transfer targets – in action for their national sides.
And the Inter Sporting Director decided to attend a recent match between Albania and Czechia in person.

For Ausilio, a recent EURO 2024 qualifier between Albania and Czechia was an opportunity to watch two different midfielders for different reasons.
Albania won the match 3-0. This result could be a big balance-shifter in terms of qualification for the upcoming EUROS.
On the one hand, current Inter midfielder Asllani will have greatly enjoyed his evening.
The 21-year-old helped Albania to the result with a starting role in central midfield.
Accordingly, Ausilio observed the Albanian former Empoli midfielder.
Asllani has been an Inter player since last summer.
The Albanian has not always find playing time easy to come by. However, he has not left the club either on a permanent basis or on loan.
The sense is that Asllani is staying at Inter to start to earn more and more of a role in the team for himself.
And Ausilio had the chance to watch the 21-year-old in person an monitor his progress.
Meanwhile, West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek started for Czechia.
And Ausilio was watching the 28-year-old closely.
Inter are looking at Soucek as a transfer target for next summer given the Czech midfielder’s prospective availability on a free transfer. Therefore, Ausilio was scouring him.
