France international striker Marcus Thuram has been named as the outstanding player Inter Milan’s 3-0 Serie A win over Torino.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, hand Thuram a score of 7/10 in the player ratings for the match.

Thuram is certainly a player who’s gotten off to an impressive start to life at Inter.

The Frenchman arrived with fairly big expectations on his shoulder. However, there were also some hints that he might need a settling-in period before it would be clear what he can contribute.

Instead, Thuram’s impact just seems to grow with each passing match.

The 26-year-old has now scored four goals for Inter – on top of assisting another five.

Thuram has scored in both Serie A and the Champions League. And now he has scored both home and away.

Previously, both of the Frenchman’s goals had arrived at the San Siro. But he proved that he can be decisive by opening the scoring in yesterday’s 3-0 win over Torino, unlocking what had been up to that point a fairly gritty contest.

Marcus Thuram MOTM For Inter Milan Vs Monza

In the first half of yesterday evening’s match, Inter struggled to really find space against the aggressive and tight man-marking of Torino.

Thuram drifted out to the left at times. However, he was not really able to build up a head of steam and run at the Granata backline from there.

But in the second half, the spaces started to appear.

And Thuram proved to be exactly the right man to take advantage of them.

The Frenchman used his pace and close control to burst into the patches of space that Torino’s defense left, expertly punishing them for any defensive lack of shape.

This was exactly the kind of presence Inter lacked last season with Edin Dzeko partnering Lautaro Martinez.

And Thuram made no mistake with his finish on the match’s only goal.
