Inter Milan midfielder Kristjan Asllani feels that his teammate Hakan Calhanoglu gives him a lot of help learning and growing in training.

The 21-year-old spoke to InterTV after the Nerazzurri’s Serie A victory over Roma, via FCInterNews. He reacted to the win and also praised his teammate.

Asllani came off the bench in the second half of this evening’s match.

And the former Empoli midfielder proved to have a telling contribution.

It was Asllani who played the outstanding long diagonal switch of play that Federico Dimarco took down to assist Marcus Thuram for Inter’s winning goal.

This was an important contribution from the young Albanian midfielder.

These kinds of contributions have not always been the norm during Asllani’s time at Inter.

The 21-year-old has at times lacked the playing time in which to really make an impact.

But there have been  plenty of positive signs in terms of Asllani’s growth.

And he has also had the chance to learn from a top-class player in his position. The player who Asllani replaced this evening, Hakan Calhanoglu, has become the first-choice option in the role at Inter.

Of his appearance from the bench this evening, Asllani observed that “It’s never easy to come on to the pitch when there isn’t much time left and you’re at 0-0.”

“Luckily I was able to find Dimarco with a good ball, and then Thuram’s goal arrived.”

“We had possession of the ball from start to finish,” the Albanian said of Inter’s performance.

“We almost never suffered. We have to keep going like this.”

And Asllani also praised his teammate Calhanoglu for the influence he’s had on him.

“As a group,  we’re always together,” he said,

“Calhanoglu helps me learn in every training session.”

“We must continue together, and then we can surely reach out goals.”
