Simone Inzaghi has gotten Inter Milan on track to win the Serie A title over the first ten matches of the current season.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, highlight how the Nerazzurri’s formidable early record may well be the platform for Inzaghi to finally get his hands on the Scudetto.

Inzaghi has achieved plenty so far during his time at Inter.

But one thing that the 47-year-old has pointedly failed to do is win the league title.

This is not just the case with the Nerazzurri, either. Inzaghi also failed to turn some promising runs with Lazio into a Scudetto.

Clearly, for Inzaghi, the Serie A title is priority number one this season.

And for Inter as a whole, that is also the sense.

The Nerazzurri have been anxious to get their hands on the “second star.” There has been optimism in each of the last couple seasons, but it’s never amounted to anything.

Simone Inzaghi Has Inter On Serie A Title Pace

A key problem for Inzaghi and Inter in the last couple seasons has been a somewhat erratic start.

In the 2021-22 season, his first in charge, Inter amassed 21 points in ten matches.

This was not a horrible total. But it was not really enough to mark Inter out as favourites.

A dominant run in the fall and early winter helped the Nerazzurri climb the table. But then a dramatic slowdown in the spring proved to be their undoing.

Then last season it was an abysmal start to the campaign.

Inter took just sixteen points from their first ten matches of last season.

This meant that, despite some positive periods later on in the season, the Nerazzurri never really looked like they could catch Napoli at the top.

This time around, however, Inter are top of the table after ten matches.

There is still, it goes without saying, a very long way to go for Inzaghi and Inter.

But for the first time, the Nerazzurri seem to actually be in a real position of strength at this stage.

25 points from ten matches could be just the platform they need to build on and win the title.
