Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi is looking to add Atalanta striker Gianluca Scamacca to his elusive list of victims.

Despite reaching the age of 35, the veteran centre-back remains a reliable presence at the back for Simone Inzaghi.

The former Sassuolo and Lazio defender joined the Nerazzurri on loan in the summer of 2022. Inter made his transfer permanent this summer following a positive maiden campaign at the club.

Last season, Acerbi earned plaudits for his remarkable display in the Champion League final. Although the Nerazzuri fell short, the Italian managed to nullify the threat of Man City star Erling Haaland.

This season, the Azzurri defender did likewise in the Derby della Madonnina against Olivier Giroud. He also had the better of AS Roma striker Romelu Lukaku last weekend.

So according to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Acerbi will be looking to produce another masterclass at the back when he locks horns with Scamacca.

The former Sassuolo and West Ham bomber was a transfer target for Inter Milan in the summer. However, he ended up joining Atalanta.
