Inter Milan are tracking young Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Konate as a possible target for next summer transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it. The19-year-old Ivorian international Koante has been enjoying a very positive season with Salzburg so far.

Konate has made a total of eighteen appearances so far in all competitions. He has managed to score a total of thirteen goals in the process.

And Inter are well familiar with Konate. The Ivorian had scored a brace against the Nerazzurri during a friendly clash between the two clubs over the summer.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi noted that he had expected Konate to start in the first of two Champions League matches between the two teams last month.

Instead, the teenage striker only came off the bench in that match.

However, the Gazzetta, it is very likely that Konate will be in the Salzburg starting eleven when Inter travel to Austria for the second of two group stage matches this week.

Therefore, Inter will be thinking about Konate in terms of the pitch.

Inzaghi will be looking at ways to neutralize the Ivorian’s scoring threat with his players and staff.

But also off the pitch, the Nerazzurri are monitoring Konate.

Inter Monitoring Red Bull Salzburg Striker Karim Konate

According to the Gazzetta, Konate is one of the names on Inter’s shortlist of potential targets for next summer.

There is little doubt that the Nerazzurri will make an attacking signing in one of the next couple transfer windows.

The age and fitness concerns of Marko Arnautovic and Alexis Sanchez virtually necessitate this.

And the Gazzetta report that Konate is very much on Inter’s radar in this sense.

The Nerazzurri could decide to go for a young profile with room to grow.

If so, Konate would be very much a possibility for as early as next summer, the Gazzetta anticipates.

Meanwhile, Inter are also tracking Feyenoord’s Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez, and young Lecce and Montenegro target man Nikola Krstovic.
