Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has confirmed that the Nerazzurri are interested in Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Konate.
The Inter executive spoke to Amazon Prime ahead of the team’s Champions League group stage match against the Austrian champions this evening, via FCInterNews.
Inter take on Red Bull Salzburg this evening. And of course, the team’s main focus will be on securing qualification for the knockout rounds.
But there will also be one eye on the transfer market, according to reports.
In fact, there have been recent links between Inter and one player in Salzburg’s starting eleven.
Striker Karim Konate did not start in the reverse fixture at the San Siro.
However, the 19-year-old Ivorian international starts this evening’s match.
And Konate has been enjoying something of a breakout campaign for Salzburg.
Therefore, it is perhaps not a surprise that the teenage striker has been attracting transfer interest.
And for his part, Inter CEO Marotta does not deny that Konate is a player on the Nerazzurri’s radar.
However, he also cautions that there are other teams looking at the Ivorian in addition to Inter.

Inter CEO Marotta said that “We’re fans of Konate.”
“But we’re not the only team with an interest in him,” he added.
Marotta was asked about the team’s transfer budget, and their ambitions.
“We have a budget that allows us to respect certain objectives,” the Inter executive said.
“Getting our of the group is one of those objectives,” he went on. “We have to look at the sporting side but also at the financial side.”
“We’re very happy with how things have been going in this group,” he added.
And as far as the squad rotation for this evening’s match, Marotta said that “We play in a lot of competitions.”
“It’s the right thing for us to do to build a big squad. And then it’s up to the coach to decide how to spread the minutes among the players.”
The Inter CEO gave the view that “Inzaghi is doing so in the best way possible.”
Marotta made clear that “We have a squad of starters and then co-starters, I don’t think we’re missing any types of players.”
