Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi believes his side absolutely earned their ticket to the Champions League Round of 16 following the win over RB Salzburg.
The Nerazzurri started their European campaign with an away draw against Real Sociedad.
They then managed to topple Benfica before beating Salzburg home and away.
So with 10 points in the bag, the Nerazzurri booked their place in the competition’s knockout stages along with fellow group leaders Sociedad.
As for Inzaghi, he believes qualifying for the next round with two matches to spare is a great achievement for the club.
The 47-year-old views it as a fully-deserved qualification.
“There is great satisfaction in having reached the round of 16 of the Champions League with two days to spare, and for the third year in a row,” said the Nerazzurri manager in his post-match interview with Mediaset via FcInterNews.
“The group was not easy. Thus, the passage to the round of 16 is fully deserved.”

The former Lazio coach also had words of praise for the group as a whole while also reserving special praise for last night’s substitutes.
“Lautaro is a very important player who is giving us great satisfaction, just like his teammates.
“De Vrij’s impact in the defensive third was sensational following his introduction. The same goes for Barella.
“Asllani did a great job for the umpteenth time. Dimarco played the last few minutes and knew exactly what to do. I had great responses from everyone.
“I’m lucky enough to have great players who are committed and a strong club behind me. Then we have the support of the fans who were splendid too.”
