Inter Milan got the best out of two of their star players to beat Frosinone yesterday, as Federico Dimarco and Marcus Thuram proved decisive.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, praise the Giallazzurri for a strong display, but note that individual quality made the difference in the end.

Inter will not have been underestimating what they were up against yesterday.

Frosinone have done exceptionally well to earn a spot in midtable over the first few months of the season.

It may only be the Lazio-based team’s first season back in Serie A. But they have been playing on par with more established sides like Torino and Sassuolo.

That has partially been the result of some excellent summer recruitment.

Frosinone have exploited the loan market well. Particularly Juventus duo Matias Soule and Enzo Barrenechea have blossomed in Giallazzurri colours.

Both of the Argentine Bianconeri duo looked very up for it against Inter yesterday.

And just as important as their squad has been Frosinone’s fearless approach.

It doesn’t matter the stadium or opposition. Eusebio Di Francesco has insisted on his team playing high-tempo, high-pressing football.

Inter Duo Dimarco & Thuram Prove Decisive Despite Feisty Frosinone

For much of the first half at the San Siro yesterday, Frosinone’s approach looked to be paying off.

Inter had one or two decent opportunities to score.

But on balance, so did the visiting team.

Inter were never really able to get into their rhythm. In midfield and on the flanks, Frosinone afforded the home team very little time and space in which to operate.

Therefore, the visitors must have been growing more and more confident that something may well have been there for them.

But that came crashing down as the first half drew to a close.

Inter wingback Federico Dimarco showed why he is regarded as having one of the most formidable left feet in Serie A.

And the 26-year-old showed exactly why that is the case in spectacular style. He opened the scoring from barely past the halfway line.

Then it was Thuram’s turn to have his say.

The Frenchman was arguably Inter’s liveliest player throughout the evening.

That is something that the Nerazzurri have come to expect from a striker who arrived on a free transfer during the summer.

And it was Thuram whose skill, pace, and determination won the penalty that killed off the match.

Tuttosport commend Frosinone for putting in a very credible performance. The Giallazzurri caused Inter as much trouble as more lauded teams like Torino and Atalanta.

But in the end, Inter had the sheer quality to secure the three point.
