Inter Milan Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello met with the President of the Lombardia region yesterday to update on the club’s plans to construct a stadium in the Rozzano area.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that the President was happy with the seeming feasibility of the project.

Inter are now moving full speed ahead on their plan to build a new stadium in the commune of Rozzano.

It has looked for months like plans in the city of Milano proper are dead in the water.

This is the result of the constant bureaucratic delays and uncertainty.

Red tape consistently held up and hindered the plans of Inter and AC Milan to build a new stadium together that would take the place of the San Siro.

So the clubs lost patience.

Firstly, it was the Rossoneri who really shifted their focus, deciding on the San Donato area. And subsequently, then Inter followed suit.

The Nerazzurri have already formally presented their plans to the Municipality of Rozzano.

Therefore, it is now looking like building in Rozzano would represent a very feasible option for Inter.

The red tape that was a constant nuisance in the process of trying to secure approval to demolish the San Siro and build a new structure in its place will not be nearly as burdensome.

Furthermore, according to the Corriere della Sera, Lombardia region President Attilio Fontana appreciates this.

Fontana held a meeting with Nerazzurri Corporate CEO Antonello yesterday.

He received updates on the progress of the plans in Rozzano.

And according to the Corriere della Sera, Fontana was very positive about what Antonello told him.

The Lombardia region President appreciates the relative simplicity of building in Rozzano compared to the San Siro plans.
