Inter Milan transfer target Piotr Zielinski announced that his agent is holding talks with Napoli over a possible contract renewal.

The 29-year-old has been with the Partenopei since the summer of 2016.

The polish international cemented himself as one of the best creative midfielders in Serie A over the past years.

However, his contract with the Southern Italian club will expire at the end of the season.

This situation caught the attention of several suitors in Italy and abroad who are now looking to sign the player for free next summer, including Inter.

Nevertheless, Zielinski announced ongoing talks between his camp and Napoli over a contract extension.

While the midfielder leaves the door open for a depature, he reveals that his agent is currently negotiating with the reigning Italian champions.

“Renewal with Napoli? The negotiations are underway. As I already said, my agent is taking care of all this,” said the Pole in his interview with TVP Sport via FcInterNews.

“I certainly don’t rule out the possibility of a contract extension, but I believe everyone will find out in due time.

“Now, I’m focused on giving my all with the Napoli shirt, as I have always done”

Zielinski also discussed the interest of Saudi Pro League clubs which tried to sign him in the summer.

“The interest was real, but I decided to achieve something more here in Europe, like playing in the Champions League. I decided it wasn’t time to chase the money just yet.”

Zielinski has contributed with three goals and as many assists across all competitions this season.
