Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan should renew his contract with the club as both parties are adamant about prolonging their prosperous collaboration.

The 34-year-old has massive experience under the belt having represented some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

The Armenian had stints at Shakhtar Donetsk, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Arsenal.

In the summer of 2022, he left AS Roma as a free agent and joined Inter Milan.

Since then, the veteran established himself as a regular feature in the Nerazzurri’s starting line-up.

As Il Corriere dello Sport (via FcInterNews) explains, Mkhitaryan is a fundamental element in Simone Inzaghi’s tactical jigsaw.

So while the player’s contract expires at the end of the season, Inter are hellbent on maintaining his services beyond the summer.

The source expects the Italian giants to offer the midfielder a one-year extension.

Inter and Mkhitaryan share the desire to prolong their collaboration.

Thus, The Roman newspaper doesn’t expect any problems to ensue in the negotiations between the two parties.

The report also reveals that there has already been some contact between the club and the player’s entourage.

Inter Milan & Henrikh Mkhitaryan Are Looking To Extend Their Collaboration

This season, the former Roma star has contributed with two goals and four assists in 12 Serie A appearances. He was the ultimate hero for the Nerazzurri in the 5-1 Derby della Madonnina demolition against AC Milan.

The experienced star retired from international football in November 2021.

Hence, he should be fully fit when Inter take on Juventus at the Allianz Stadium next weekend.
