Legendary Germany striker Jurgen Klinsmann discussed his old club Inter Milan while reserving special praise for Marcus Thuram.

The Frenchman joined the Italian giants on a free transfer in the summer and quickly cemented himself as a pillar.

The 26-year-old has already scored five goals and provided eight assists across all competitions since the start of the season.

Therefore, Klinsmann feels that Thuram’s exploits have helped the club overcome the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko.

“The memory of Lukaku and Dzeko was cumbersome, but Thuram isn’t making anyone regret their departures,” said the 1990 World Cup hero in his interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInter1908.

“I was hoping he would adjust straight away, but in reality, he’s doing great already.

“Marcus is simply Marcus, he’s different from everyone else. He’s a natural talent, but with the right mind to become a champion.

“It might have seemed like a gamble, but we can now say that Inter got it right with him.

“In addition to the variety of his shots, Thuram’s secret is his smile. He faces challenges with good humor and is not afraid to take risks

“He is proving to be a real Number 9 with his movement. He drives defenders crazy.”

The German icon also heaped praise on Inter captain Lautaro Martinez who has been firing on all cylinders since the start of the season.

“After years of serving as an assistant to the center forward, Lautaro now occupies the area himself and scores one goal per game.

“He counts on the presence of Thuram and the work of his teammates, but it is Lautaro who has become deadly.

“After all, at Inter, you only become captain at the age of 26 if you are special.”

Finally, Klinsmann explained that former Bayern Munich duo Yann Sommer and Benjamin Pavard pushed hard to seal their respective transfers to Inter in the summer.

“They have one thing in common, they wanted to come to Inter at all costs despite already being at a huge club.

“This Nerazzurri desire is an added value. Pavard is exceptional, he left a hole on the right side at Bayern. It’s just a shame he got injured.

“Sommer, on the other hand, has been a rock for 10 or 15 years.”
