Inter Milan are reportedly preparing to offer Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski a contract worth at least 4 million euros per season.
The Pole has been plying his trade in Serie A since joining Udinese in 2011.
The 29-year-old signed for Napoli in 2016, establishing himself as a stalwart at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
However, Zielinski is now running on an expiring contract. Therefore, his time with the Partenopei could be drawing to a close.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via TuttoMercatoWeb, the negotiations between Napoli and the player are currently on ice.
This opened the door for the midfielder to listen to offers from other clubs.
As the Pink newspaper explains, Inter and Juventus are dueling for the Polish star’s favor.
The Bianconeri’s director of football Cristiano Giuntoli was the one who signed Zielinski at Napoli. Hence, he’d like to reunite with his old pupil in Turin.
Nevertheless, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is an expert at snapping up free agents.

The source claims that the Nerazzurri are looking to place themselves in the lead by offering Zielinski a yearly salary that exceeds 4 million euros.
The report believes that this offer has already reached the player’s entourage.
The Poland star has made 12 appearances in Serie A this season, contributing with two goals and as many assists. He also has one strike and an assist in his four Champions League outings.
Zielinski can operate as a box-to-box midfielder or an attacking midfielder.
